The Rally

A month-long period of intense campaigning culminated in a 5,000 person rally and march on Parliament on 15th March, 2011.

For the first time in WA’s history, employers joined with employees, and white collar workers with blue collar workers, to march up St George’s Tce and demand answers from the Premier.

The Premier addressed the crowd, along with Opposition Leader Eric Ripper and Greens MLC Alison Xamon.

Most commentators remarked that the rally was the biggest event of its type since the 1990s, when unions were protesting against the industrial relations changes implemented by the Court Government.
